Climate Resilient Famer Promoter Meeting
On July 01st 2013, for the Building Climate Resilient Farming Communities in Cambodia (BCR) project, CEDAC organized a meeting for farmer promoters at its head office in Phnom Penh. 68 farmer promoters including 17 women from seven provinces attended the meeting​​ facilitated by CEDAC President Dr. Yang Saing Koma. The objectives of the meeting were to:
  • Strengthen the capacity of farmer promoter on climate resilient farming techniques
  • Disseminate CEDAC prize program 2013
  • Train farmers on how to transform ordinary rice fields into highly productive and diversified rice field/multi-purpose fields.
As a result, farmer promoters gained more knowledge and understanding on techniques of climate resilient rice farm and how to transform ordinary rice fields into multi-purpose fields. Moreover, 108 individual farmers and 15 farmer associations have registered for CEDAC’s Prize Program for 2013, with a commitment to get more farmers registered.
